International student? Hello and welcome to London!
Let's get things started with our Week Zero line up of international students' events for those of you attending UCL's International Students' Orientation Programme (ISOP) from 19 to 25 September. That's not to say everything happening in Week One isn't also for you (we absolutely recommend that you attend lots of the other events on this site as well), but we don't want you to be stuck twiddling your thumbs!*
That said, we know the experience of moving to a new country adds an extra layer of stress for you guys when you arrive, so take this week as a chance to ease in and familiarise yourself with all things London before the masses get here the following week. We've got everything, from sight seeing to clubbing and events at some of London's most iconic locations. Our students will also be running tours of the campus, leaving between 12pm and 2pm daily throughout the ISOP period, so come along to the Main Quad and join a tour.
Tickets for all of these events will go on sale on 1 September on the main UCLU website, but if you aren't able to buy online for any reason, you should be able to get some in person when you get here.
And the great news is that the fun doesn't stop there. The International Students' Forum is there for you all year long; providing socials, working on campaigns and making sure your voice is heard. Find out more about them here. And if you need help with Tier 4 Visa applications, join us Monday 19 to Friday 23 at the Bloomsbury Theatre Rehearsal Room, 10am to 4pm.
*by the way, "twiddling your thumbs" is a British expression for being bored!
